INGREDIENTS

We believe it’s important that The Skin Agent is kind to both your skin and the planet. That’s why we choose to use only natural ingredients, and organic ingredients wherever possible.

In our sunscreen, we use non-nano Zinc Oxide as the UV filter. Zinc Oxide and all our other ingredients are biodegradable and safe for marine ecosystems, unlike some chemical sunscreens that can harm coral reefs and aquatic life.

Under each product, you’ll find a tab called “More information”, where you can see exactly what that particular product contains.

All the ingredients in The Skin Agent’s products are considered to have a low allergenic potential, and our products have been tested on people with sensitive skin.

Our sunscreen is approved for use on babies.

However, allergies and skin sensitivity are individual. If you know that you are sensitive to a particular ingredient or cosmetic products, we recommend testing the product on a small area of skin, such as the inside of your elbow, and waiting 24 hours before using it more widely.

Absolutely! Many people experience chafing in intimate areas, for example after shaving or waxing, and The Skin Agent provides excellent protection against the irritation this can cause.

The products are also great for cycling, helping to protect against chafing caused by the saddle.

As the products are completely water-free, they are pH-neutral.

FUNCTION

For the best results, apply The Skin Agent like a deodorant stick. Glide a thin layer over the skin you want to protect and allow the product to absorb completely.

If you’re using Active or Comfort with clothing, make sure the product has been fully absorbed before getting dressed to avoid any marks. This shouldn’t take more than 30–45 seconds. If it seems to be taking longer, you can help spread the product evenly over the skin or wipe away any excess.

No, quite the opposite. The product should be fully absorbed into the skin. It’s better to apply a thin layer, let it absorb properly, and then reapply as needed. The skin shouldn’t feel sticky.

As everyone’s skin is different, it’s difficult to give exact guidelines on how much to use. If you have dry skin, for example, you may need to apply an extra layer. The best approach is to find the amount that works best for you through trial and error.

But the general rule is: Less is more. 

The Skin Agent’s products are the first Swedish-developed product range designed to protect against the friction that causes chafing, blisters and friction-related skin damage. They are easy to apply like a deodorant stick, directly to the areas of skin you want to protect.

The Skin Agent is completely fragrance- and colour-free, leaving your skin feeling smooth and soft.

Easy to use, instant protection. 

It’s difficult to give an exact answer, as it depends on how large an area you use the stick on and how often you apply it. Are you applying a layer to your heel, or “waxing” the entire inner thigh area?

As a general guideline, we usually say that a large stick (75 ml) will last around 3 months with frequent use, for example when applied between the thighs.

The products are easily washed off with soap and water, but we actually recommend leaving them on. The only thing that will happen is that your skin will become softer and smoother.

The Skin Agent’s products are not waterproof, but they are water-resistant, meaning they stay effective in humid conditions and when you sweat. Chafing and friction-related skin damage often occur in warm, damp conditions – such as during physical activity or in hot climates. That’s why moisture resistance has always been important to us. The products are designed to stay in place even during intense exercise.

However, the protection will be reduced after swimming or taking a shower.

How long the protection lasts depends on several factors – how much you sweat, how intense the friction is, and how dry your skin is.

It’s a good idea to carry a small stick with you on longer adventures, so you can easily reapply whenever needed. 

about Chafing

Friction, or resistance to rubbing, is influenced by the texture of a surface. A smooth, even surface creates less friction than a rough or uneven one. When the raised areas of one body surface come into contact with the indentations of another, extra force is needed to separate them.

This creates friction which, when it continues over a longer period, can damage the skin and leave red, sore marks with a stinging or burning sensation.

Where chafing and blisters occur is very individual.
 
Most people have experienced chafing from shoes, while thigh chafing is also a common problem, especially during the summer.

Chafing between the thighs is common when walking with bare legs. Chafing caused by clothing and footwear is also very common. It can be caused by clothing labels, waistbands, wet swimwear or seams. Many women experience chafing from their bras, while boys often get chafing from the inner lining of their swim shorts.

There are many areas where chafing can occur, and most of us have experienced it at some point. The real problem is that we’ve simply got used to it and learned to put up with the discomfort because, until now, there hasn’t been a good solution.

Chafing and blisters can be frustrating problems that ruin your entire day or stop you from enjoying your favourite activities. 

The Skin Agent is not a medicinal product and is primarily intended for preventative use. If you already have a minor area of chafing, you can use our products to reduce pressure and friction on the damaged skin around the affected area, but not directly on an open wound.

The Skin Agent contains allantoin, which has long been known for its skin-soothing and healing properties. Allantoin is a naturally occurring substance found in the root of comfrey. It has anti inflammatory properties that help soothe and calm red and irritated skin.

We do not recommend using our products on an open wound.

ENVIRONMENT & RESPONSIBILITY

Ingredients

The products in The Skin Agent range are vegan and contain plant-based ingredients, with the majority being organic or certified. We do not use artificial ingredients such as parabens, SLS, mineral oils, paraffins or artificial colours and fragrances. We believe this contributes to a healthier planet and, above all, healthier skin.

Made in Sweden

The Skin Agent is manufactured in Sweden, helping us reduce transportation and carbon emissions. We also know that manufacturing within the EU is subject to higher standards for the safety and wellbeing of production staff. We set high standards for the environmental commitment of our manufacturing partners, several of whom hold environmental certifications.

Our Packaging

We have chosen to use jars and tubes manufactured in Europe rather than importing them from China, which is common in the cosmetics industry. Our plastic packaging is completely white and features peel-off labels, allowing the entire package to be recycled.

NOC Sweden

The Skin Agent is a member of NOC Sweden, a trade organisation for companies providing natural and organic skincare and beauty products.

When the stick is empty:

  1. Peel off the label from the container and dispose of it with combustible waste.
  2. The container itself should be sorted as plastic for recycling.

Yes, the products comply with EU cosmetic regulations and are registered with the EU Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP), in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (Article 13).

The products have also undergone testing at a laboratory approved by the Swedish Medical Products Agency.

Palmitate is a key ingredient in our products. As we want our to be vegan, there is currently no better alternative for both the skin and the environment.

We don’t believe that boycotting palm oil is the solution. A boycott does not necessarily help protect rainforests, orangutans or the people in Indonesia affected by fires – and can even have the opposite effect. Instead, we believe it is important to take responsibility by using palm-derived ingredients from companies that meet high standards for sustainable agriculture.

The Skin Agent only use palmitate that is certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). RSPO is a multi-stakeholder organisation bringing together stakeholders from across the supply chain, from plantations to retailers, with standards for sustainable palm oil production.

WWF is one of the stakeholders involved in RSPO.

No. Animal testing of cosmetic products is banned in the EU, and cosmetic products tested on animals for cosmetic purposes cannot be marketed in the EU. The ban also applies to cosmetic ingredients tested on animals for the purpose of meeting EU cosmetics requirements.

To avoid thigh chafing in summer. We were tired of all the old-fashioned home remedies, tights and suggestions to wear unflattering cycling shorts. We were tired of not being able to move comfortably and freely without thigh chafing.

But we quickly realised that there are many different types of chafing that we could help prevent.

Oh yes! We developed the products we ourselves felt were missing from the market, and tested them together with focus groups throughout the entire development process – all to achieve the results we were looking for.
